Heather handles strategic commercial real estate finance, acquisition and disposition transactions, joint ventures, real estate restructuring matters, distressed debt transactions, banking acquisitions and dispositions, portfolio sales, commercial lending and other finance transactions. Through her experiences as in-house counsel for both a major commercial finance company and a real estate fund, Heather has developed an informed perspective on supporting and achieving a client’s goals and objectives. Her time as in-house counsel gives her a novel understanding of the issues and challenges faced by in-house attorneys. With almost 30 years of experience representing companies in several industries through positive and adverse economic cycles, Heather is well-positioned to provide clients with comprehensive legal advice to help them efficiently achieve and maximize their business objectives through changing economic conditions.

Client Work

Heather represents commercial banks, lenders, institutional investors and other owners, developers and managers of real estate and real estate-related investments. In addition, Heather represents investors, asset managers, banks and private funds in a broad range of real estate and commercial finance and related transactions, including senior secured debt transactions, mezzanine finance transactions, construction financing, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development and portfolio management.

Heather also regularly represents clients in connection with distressed debt transactions, workouts, restructuring, foreclosures and other troubled debt matters, utilizing her substantial experience working through changing economic conditions.

Previous Work

A former Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Commercial Lending for Pacific Western Bank, Heather worked closely with the publicly-traded company’s structured finance business unit. In addition, Heather worked as in-house counsel for a national real estate development company based in Northern Virginia.

Before joining Pacific Western Bank, Heather worked in the Atlanta, New York and Washington offices of two large international law firms primarily representing developers and funds.
