As a member of the Government Relations practice, Kate helps clients navigate complex policy landscapes at the federal and local levels. She brings a strong track record in bipartisan advocacy, coalition-based campaigns, and strategic communications. Prior to ArentFox Schiff, Kate was a Senior Legislative Assistant at Ogilvy Government Relations, supporting senior-level principals in addition to clients by coordinating fly-ins, monitoring legislative activity, drafting legislative research, and assisting with the editing process of the team’s weekly client newsletter.

Kate also served as a Congressional Intern and Congressional Fellow in the Office of Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO). She supported the office in researching new pieces of legislation, drafting the Congressman’s speeches, and assisting with constituent casework in the district office. In addition, Kate worked as a writing tutor and consultant at her university and facilitated the college’s first-ever writing center support group.

Client Work

  • Led multiple large-scale client appropriations initiatives during the FY25 and FY26 application cycles by coordinating submissions to over 100 Member offices. Her efforts contributed to the successful inclusion of client-backed programmatic language in both House and Senate committee reports for FY25.
  • Spearheaded the coordination of a joint letter on behalf of a nationwide association comprised of more than 50 member organizations, alerting House leadership of the critical need to reauthorize a program fundamental for the continued operations of Teaching Health Centers throughout the country.
  • Participated in a successful broad Congressional outreach effort to more than 90 offices to help a manufacturing client obtain a more favorable regulatory decision from the Medicare program regarding patients’ access to its products.
  • Led logistical and strategic planning for over 20 large-scale client fly-ins, including high-level meetings with federal and local officials, tailored policy briefings, and event programming, ensuring seamless execution and increased client visibility.

Life Beyond the Law

Outside of work, Kate is an active member of Women in Government Relations and enjoys staying engaged in her community through local sports leagues, culinary classes, and several book clubs.
