Michael represents clients on lender-side real estate financings. He sits first chair on structured real estate transactions for multistate, multi-property credit facility collateral events – originations, refinancings, assignments and assumptions, additions, releases, simultaneous and staggered substitutions and borrow ups.
Client Work
Michael works on financings of large multifamily housing properties, manufactured housing communities and senior housing facilities, including those with affordable housing components, LIHTC, regulatory agreements and licensing requirements. He advises on complex title and survey matters, negotiates loan and mortgage documents, subordination agreements, SNDAs, estoppels, and corporate and local law opinions.
Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox in 2015, Michael worked at a prominent Wall Street law firm representing investment banks in the real estate aspect of secured bank and bond financings (including a 17-state, 900+ property acquisition and refinancing). He served as a Post Graduate Fellow at the NYC Law Department’s Special Litigation Unit, and interned with the late Honorable William H. Paley, SDNY. Michael also served for a decade as Chief Operating Officer for the owners of commercial buildings in New York’s Jewelry District.
