Molly represents companies and associations in diverse legal areas across the country. She focuses her practice on complex civil and commercial disputes including:

  • Contract and business tort claims
  • Class action defense
  • Environmental, food, and animal litigation

Molly has significant experience working with not-for-profit organizations, particularly those associated with medical, health, educational, and scientific interests. She provides strategic, practical counsel that never loses sight of her clients’ business objectives. Molly is called upon to advise clients on interpreting and revising their contract terms, bylaws, and internal policies to mitigate litigation and business risks. 

In addition to litigating, she has presented to corporate counsel and bar association groups on the attorney-client privilege, ethical rules regarding confidentiality, and diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

Client Work

With both trial and appellate court experience, Molly has argued and defeated motions to dismiss, secured preliminary injunctions and discovery orders, and won a number of other pre- and post-trial motions for her clients. Molly has managed federal and state complex discovery, including in class actions, subpoena demands, and government civil investigations.

Outside of court, she has successfully mediated several multi-million-dollar business and contract disputes involving multiple parties and jurisdictions and media/public relations concerns.

Professional Activities

Molly has devoted substantial time to pro bono matters, chiefly in the areas of asylum, animal law, civil rights, and family law.

  • Working with the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), Molly won contested political asylum cases for two clients from Cote d’Ivoire and three clients from China.
  • Molly has represented multiple Illinois prisoners in Section 1983 civil rights cases, including successfully securing financial settlements for her clients.
  • She has represented local and national animal welfare organizations in federal litigation regarding the constitutionality of puppy mill ordinances.
  • Through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, Molly successfully represented multiple clients in contested divorce, child custody, and child support disputes.
