Health Care Partners Lowell Brown, Debra Albin-Riley, Annie Lee, and Jeff Weston will present at the California Association Medical Staff Services’ (CAMSS) 54th Annual Education Forum in Universal City, California, on May 14-16, 2025.

In a session titled “What MSPs Should Know About the Crossover between Peer Review and Employment Law,” Annie and Jeff will combine their knowledge of peer review and employment law to discuss the employment law principles at play when physicians are affiliated with a larger health system, employed by a group contracted with a health system’s foundation, a faculty member of the academic center, and other non-community-physician arrangements.

Annie will also lead a session titled “What Your Lawyers Wish You Had Said: Using Leadership Communication to Avoid Legal Complication,” in which she will explore how Medical Staff leaders can communicate effectively to prevent and resolve conflicts while maintaining a focus on quality care and patient protection.

Deb and Lowell’s presentation, titled “Medical Staffs, Foundations, Medical Groups, and Hospitals: Yes, They Can Work Together Well,” will cover best practices for managing complex organizational processes within mature foundation organizations, including structuring and running peer review, privileging, credentialing, corrective action, and information-sharing.
