AFS Partner Lauren Wolven will speak at the Annual Seattle Estate Planning Seminar on October 30th in Seattle, Washington.

In their session “Planning to Meet One’s Maker: Religion Meets Estate Planning,” Lauren and her co-speaker explore the ethics topic of cultural competence and its impact on the estate planning process, with a focus on topics of sensitivity, inheritance rules, and burial practices. They will address laws applicable to the disposition of remains, increase understanding of religious rules and norms around the disposition of remains, and detail solutions for state law differences to ensure the ability to comply with client’s religious and cultural beliefs and, or wishes.
