Ross Panko is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property group. He has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, counseling and transactions.
Ross’ litigation experience includes the representation of clients in trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret, and false advertising cases in federal and state courts and administrative venues. He regularly represents clients in intellectual property disputes in federal courts, in inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in domain dispute proceedings arising under ICANN’s Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. Ross also represents clients in Section 337 actions before the International Trade Commission and false advertising disputes before the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau.
Ross counsels clients in a wide range of industries, including media and entertainment, computer software, consumer electronics, food, and publishing. He regularly counsels clients on domestic and international trademark and copyright issues, including the clearance, prosecution and enforcement of trademarks, and the licensing and protection of copyrighted works. Ross has negotiated and drafted a wide variety of agreements relating to intellectual property interests, including licensing and publishing agreements.
Prior to joining Arent Fox, Lourdes was a consultant on law and policy for a company that develops software training for organizations to use in spreading awareness on protecting privacy, minimizing data security breaches, and dealing with online social media issues. She was also the Senior Policy Manager of Privacy for an international gaming, hospitality, and entertainment company, where she helped build their privacy program from the ground up. During law school, she clerked for the General Counsel of a multinational corporation, where she handled a wide range of day-to-day legal issues that covered privacy, trademarks, and promotions, amongst others. She was also a privacy research associate for one of the leading privacy law scholars.
Ross is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association. He also holds membership in the International Trademark Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.
