Xiang advises high-net-worth individuals, families, and their businesses on the design and execution of sophisticated wealth planning strategies and asset holding structures that preserve and grow multigenerational capital on a global scale. His practice covers a broad range of US and cross-border income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues.
Xiang regularly structures and modifies foreign and domestic grantor and non-grantor trusts, guides non-US families on US inbound investments and pre-immigration planning, counsels US clients on expatriation strategies and outbound asset holdings, and collaborates with international advisers to navigate multijurisdictional regimes.
Recognized in the 2025 and 2026 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Trusts and Estates Law, Xiang strives to combine technical tax fluency with a practical, solution-oriented approach. He serves on the New York City Bar Estate & Gift Taxation Committee and is an Affiliate Member of STEP.
Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Xiang was an associate in the private client and tax group in the Connecticut office of a global law firm.

Life Beyond the Law
Outside of work, Xiang enjoying hiking and traveling. So far, he has travelled to more than 20 countries in the world.
Xiang is also passionate about charitable cause. While working in China, he attended the first US-China philanthropy forum in Hawaii. While attending law school in the U.S., he interned at the Charity Bureau of New York State Attorney General’s Office.
