On July 31, 2025, ArentFox Schiff hosted the HGPII Annual Best Practices Forum, one of the group purchasing sector’s premier training and leadership development conferences. The annual forum brings together executives from Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) across the country, providing a dynamic platform for evaluating best practices and exploring the latest innovations in health care supply chain management.

This year’s program featured a robust lineup of sessions showcasing the knowledge and perspectives of some of the most influential leaders in health care policy, supply chain innovation, and business ethics. Keynote Speaker John Brooks, The Centers for Medicaid and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Chief Policy and Regulatory Officer and Deputy Administrator, discussed the Trump administration’s ideas for promoting a healthy medical supply chain and reducing the regulatory challenges imposed on GPOs, hospitals, and health systems. Other highlights included:

  • A statement from Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), the prime sponsor of the Medical Supply Chain Resiliency Act;
  • A trade panel comprised of Meredith Broadbent, Senior Advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Mario Torrico, an International Trade associate at AFS, and Joshua Snead, Staff Director of the Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Trade, discussing the impacts of tariffs and trade developments on the health care supply chain;
