AFS Automotive Presents on Late Title Transfers at the California New Motor Vehicle Board Roundtable
AFS Automotive’s Franjo M. Dolenac appeared on a panel with alumnus, Rob Cohen of Vitu, at the New Motor Vehicle Board’s Roundtable held in Sacramento, California on April 27, 2025 to talk about late title transfers for used vehicles.
The issue has become a hot topic in light of the DMV’s recent uptick in related enforcement actions against dealers. Franjo and Rob discussed the relevant law, the general causes of late title transferring, and proposed solutions that dealers can implement in their practices for faster processing, including the benefits of electronic titles. They later joined DMV regulators in a roundtable discussion with dealers to address enforcement actions for late title transfers caused by the DMV’s own delays and solutions that the DMV can implement so their special processing unit can better communicate with dealers.
